WHITE TWP., NJ [June 18, 2004] – The Family Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey for Warren County, located in Belvidere, NJ, is seeking volunteers for the Child Placement Review Board and the Juvenile Conference Committee. Members of these committees are court-appointed volunteers, working as an arm of the Family Court. They are sworn in by a judge and agree to observe the confidential nature of the proceedings. Each Committee meets one evening a month.

The Child Placement Review Board reviews the status of children who have been placed in foster care by the Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS). The Board advocates for the well-being of children in foster care and assists in planning for their permanent placement.

The Juvenile Conference Committee informally hears juvenile complaints filed with the court. The Committee is primarily concerned with preventing future misconduct.

Volunteers are required to attend basic and advanced training conducted by the court. This provides them with the tools necessary to understand and assist children and/or adolescents in the resolution of their cases.

For applications or additional information, please contact Terri Vliet, Court Services Supervisor, at 908-475-6171.
