Warren County will mark Patriot Day on Thursday, September 11, with a 7 p.m. ceremony at the Warren County War Memorial in Belvidere.

The ceremony, hosted by the Warren County Fire Prevention Association, Warren County Fire Marshal and Warren County Fire Academy, will include readings and remarks by police, fire and emergency management officials and the Warren County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

Also included is the laying of a memorial wreath in remembrance of all who perished on September 11, 2001 and for those who have since lost their lives in the war on terrorism. According to Warren County Fire Marshal Joseph Lake, three people with connections to the county who died in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center that day – Bruce Reynolds of Knowlton Twp., Deepa Pakkala of Greenwich Twp., and former Hackettstown resident Bruce Simmons – will be remembered with the memorial wreath.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony, and the War Memorial is located next to the Warren County Courthouse, at the corner of Second and Mansfield streets.
