Warren County’s draft 2008 Open Space Plan is now available online for public review. This plan will be discussed at the April 28, 2008 meeting of Warren County Planning Board. Notification of the meeting has been sent to all municipalities in Warren County with a copy of the Plan’s Executive Summary.  The full version of the draft Open Space Plan text and Appendices is available by clicking here.

The draft Open Space Plan sets forth the Warren County Planning Board’s vision for a coordinated open space system in Warren County. Specifically, it reinforces the long time county mission to preserve the Morris Canal greenway and to acquire properties associated with the Warren Trail from Phillipsburg to Allamuchy.

The Plan recommends acquiring properties to interconnect trail systems and other large reserves of open space to ultimately realize a seamless network of public open spaces regardless of federal, state, county, municipal, non-profit, or semi-public ownership.  In addition, the draft Plan sets forth recommendations for the county’s open space preservation program.

The Warren County Planning Board meeting begins at 8:00 pm and will take place at the Wayne Dumont, Jr. Administration Building, 165 County Route 519, White Township, located just south of Belvidere, NJ.
