New Jersey Care also provides coverage for adults over the age of 65 and disabled adults in the community.
- Family Care- provides free or low-cost health coverage for uninsured children and teens 18 or younger. NJ FamilyCare is not a welfare program; it offers full health coverage through several recognized Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs). NJ FamilyCare covers doctor visits, eyeglasses, hospitalization, lab tests, x-rays, prescriptions, regular checkups, mental health, and in most circumstances dental. For many children, there are no monthly premiums or co-payments. Some children from higher income families may be required to pay a small co-payment or monthly premium.
