Despite the fact that vaccines to prevent flu and pneumococcal pneumonia have been proven to be effective, many people in the United States die needlessly of these preventable diseases and their complications. Below is a list of sites open to anyone ages 6 months and older.
The pneumonia vaccine is recommended for people 65 years of age and older, any adult smoker or asthmatic 19 years of age and older, and also, anyone 2 64 years of age with long-term health problems, a disease/condition that lowers the bodys resistance to infection or someone who is taking a drug or treatment that does the same.
