Where and when are the Freeholder meetings?
The Warren County Board of Chosen Freeholders holds several meetings each month in the Wayne Dumont, Jr. Administration Building, 165 County Route 519 South, White Township. The building is about two miles south of Belvidere.

Regularly scheduled meetings are held the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. from January through April and from October through December., and at 7:30 p.m. May through September. Special meetings can be announced in The Star-Ledger, which has been designed the official newspaper for all official county notices and ads, or in The Daily Record, the alternate official newspaper. Meetings also are posted here.

How do I get a passport?
First-time passports can be ordered through the Warren County Clerk's Office, located in the Warren County Courthouse, 413 Second St., Belvidere. The telephone number is (908) 475-6211. But remember - plan ahead! Allow at least six weeks time to receive your passport.

Passports cost $135 for anyone 16 or older, and are good for 10 years. For individuals 15 and younger, passports cost $105 and are good for only five years.

To order a passport, you need:

  • A birth certificate with a raised municipal or state seal. Hospital certificates are not accepted.
  • Driver's license or similar identification.
  • Two identical photos of passport quality. Photographs can be obtained at the Warren County Clerk's Office at a cost of $10.
Child age 13 and younger must have both parents present when applying for a passport, or a consent form signed and notarized by the missing parent. Also, both parents' names must appear on the child's birth certificate.

If a person is naturalized, he or she must submit a certificate of naturalization.
Expedited service is available for an additional $60.

To renew a passport that was issued within the last 15 years, mail-in applications are available. Call the Warren County Clerk's Office for specific instructions.

How do I register to vote?
You must be at least 18 years of age, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Warren County to register to vote at a site within the county. You can register at the Warren County Board of Elections, located in the Warren County Courthouse, 413 Second St., Belvidere; the Warren County Welfare Board office, Courthouse Annex, Second and Hardwick Streets, Belvidere; New Jersey Motor Vehicle Agencies; or at any municipal clerk's office.
 

How do I get an absentee ballot for voting?
To apply for an absentee ballot by mail, forms can be obtained from any municipal clerk or from the Warren County Clerk's Office, Warren County Courthouse, 413 Second St., Belvidere. Applications must be received by seven days before any election. You must be a registered voter, and the applicant must sign his or her own application.

After the seven-day deadline for ordering an absentee ballot by mail, registered voters may vote in person at the Warren County Clerk's Office, up until 3 p.m. the day before each election.

What health services does the County of Warren offer and how do I access them?
Home and Community Health services are offered through the Public Health Nursing Agency. Examples of services include home visiting, well baby immunization clinics, flu and pneumococcal vaccines, health promotion and screenings for hypertension, diabetes and heart disease.

Home Health Care requires a referral from a hospital or physician. Information regarding other services can be obtained by directly calling the Public Health Nursing Agency at (908) 689-6000. The agency's office is located at 162 East Washington Ave. (Route 57), Washington Borough.
