(WHITE TWP., November 25, 2008) – Hackettstown’s public works director is moving to the Warren County Road Department after the Warren County Board of Chosen Freeholders named Thomas R. Kitchen as their new Supervisor of Roads.
Kitchen will oversee the Road Department’s 65 employees and 253 miles of county roads.
“Tom Kitchen took the Department of Public Works in Hackettstown to a new level of professional service,” Freeholder Director John DiMaio said, adding, “We are pleased to have him on board in Warren County. He’ll do a great job managing our roads.”
Kitchen will replace Supervisor of Roads Frederick J. Miller, who is retiring on December 31 after 10 years with the county. Kitchen starts work on December 8, allowing for a transition period.

Of Miller, DiMaio remarked, “We wish Rick the best on his retirement. We thank him for his years of dedicated service, and recognize the fact that he did a great job in his role.”
Kitchen has been with the Town of Hackettstown for 17 years, DiMaio said, noting that as superintendent of public works he is in charge of the town’s roads, buildings and grounds.
The position of county Supervisor of Roads has a statutory term of five years, and Kitchen will earn $80,000. The freeholder board unanimously appointed him at their November 25, 2008 meeting. |
