The Warren County Agriculture Development Board (CADB) consists of seven members and five associate members who are appointed by the Board of Chosen Freeholders and who represent both the agricultural and broader public community. The CADB oversees the County Farmland Preservation Program and Right-To-Farm matters.

Since the Farmland Preservation Program's inception in 1986, Warren County has aggressively pursued the preservation of its farmland, farms and farmers. To date, the CADB has preserved over 200 farms comprising over 20,000 acres of farmland throughout the county. Not only does farmland preservation protect Warren County's bucolic atmosphere, but it helps keep the local agricultural economy viable.

If you are interested in preserving your farm, please contact the Land Preservation Department at (908) 453-2650 or visit the following links for more information:

In addition to preserving farmland, the CADB also oversees the county's Right-To-Farm Program under N.J.S.A. 41C-1 et seq. The purpose of the Right-To-Farm Act is to protect responsible commercial farmers from public and private nuisance actions and unduly restrictive municipal regulations. Pursuant to this Act, the county program is designed to work with and help educate farmers, residents, and municipalities about the Act's formal conflict resolution process and additional strategies for resolving agricultural disputes, as well as maintaining a positive agricultural business environment.
