Date prepared: 3/15/99
In December of 1997, Brian Carson created a series of Environmental Resource Inventory (ERI) maps for the Warren County Environmental Commission. These maps
were further refined and updated by commission member, George White of White Environmental Services, Inc. In addition, one new map was created and the Open Spaces / Historic Sites map was split into two separate maps. The maps were created using the GIS program ArcView. The source of the data layers for each map is located on the left site of each map. All the digital data that was used for the maps has been copied onto a Compact Disk that has been given to the commission. The metadata, information on who created the data, how accurate it is and its intended use can be found on the CD.
Two ArcView project files were used in the preparation of the ERI. All of the maps except, Warren County’s Breeding Birds, were made from the file warren county eri. Due to its specialized nature, the breeding bird map was separated into the project file breeding birds. The project files eri database and birds database contain the same data, however, the views (maps) have been removed from the file to make it easier to load and quicker to work with. The CD also contains a subdirectory call Legends. This subdirectory contains the ArcView theme legends used in the ERI maps.
There are a total of eleven ERI maps. These maps were produced on 11” x 17” paper for the Warren County Environmental Resources Inventory at a scale of 1:144,000. Below is a list of what ArcView themes were used in each of the maps.
For your convenience and web purposes, we have saved the map files in "jpeg" format (printer friendly).
